Case:  BroadVision, and the accompanying Technology Note - Rules-Based Systems.  You may answer the following questions in your case analysis:

  1. What does 1-to-1 marketing really mean?
  2. What are the pros and cons of a Rules-Based System versus a Collaborative Filtering System?  Give examples to illustrate your point.
  3. Besides profiling customers with their demographics, what other variables may be used to understand your customers?
