EBI Service Specification

Purpose

The purpose of the E-Business Information Service (EBI) is to support the operation of the e-business program at USF.  This includes:

Teaching
Marketing the program to prospective students, sponsors, guest speakers, and supporters.
Maintaining relationships with program alumni
Facilitating the creation and operation of an Advisory Board.
Conference 

User Groups

EBI users will be classified as:

Teachers.
Students including current and prospective
Alumni of the program.

Major Functions

Major system functions include:

Maintaining records on students, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters.
Direct Marketing support.

Systems Environment

EBI will be implemented on a Linux system running AOL Server, Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition and the Ars Digita Community System (ACS) toolkit.  All user access will be via the Web using Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 4 or higher) or Netscape Navigator (version 4 or higher).

Systems Interfaces

There are no interfaces to other systems at this time.
